Intranet & Extranet
With the uptake of broadband and increasing globalisation, modern business needs to keep up with the high demands on their organisational processes and manage more people over greater distances. To maintain a competitive edge, organisations need to exchange information collaboratively, connect with existing data reliably, manage files securely and access critical information quickly.
With an Intranet and/or Extranet solution the knowledge-based economy can be driven by computer technology in an environment which any organisation can thrive. Whether delivered via LAN, WAN or the internet, providing an environment to communicate and share critical information is increasingly important.
Using an ARES' solution with EpiServer, SharePoint or DotNet NUKE, a powerful content management system is utilised within an intranet or extranet to manage features such as: inventory, user access, human resources, management reporting, news items, inter-office communications, analysis and reporting. Often footy tipping and links to popular sites are also included in organisation’s intranets.
When developing an extranet or intranet, there is often a requirement for integration with existing client legacy systems; therefore ARES recommends that the initial project scoping and business requirements process involves examining immediate and future integration options.
